When you chose a place to stay, you want to have chosen a place you would recommend to a friend, a place where they make the effort to get the big and the little things right. Little things like a selection of sweets & mineral water on your bed side table, goose down pillows & duvets & local foods on the breakfast table. One of our breakfast Jams is made from wild Whortleberries picked on Exmoor and our honey comes from hives just down the road.

Relax by the log fires in the bar or enjoy the views from the Ivy Garden while sampling our selection of award winning ales. Our food & accommodation has been recommended by international & local publications like The Good Pub Guide 2008, The Lonely Planet Guide To Britain & The Exmoor Magazine. Each room has Freeview TV, beverage tray, hairdryer, selection of toiletries etc. Every room also has a regularly updated guide book to recommended local attractions & walks that we have prepared.

One of our rooms contains an historic fresco signifying that the cavity behind the wall on which it is painted, was used as a place of refuge by local monks during the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII. If you would like to stay in this room please specify Room 2 when booking.
